We were out with our friends Nate and Amber and their two young boys. After lunch we all bought ice cream cones. Well everybody that is but Nate. As soon as they were paid for, we settled into enjoying our ice cream cones on the sidewalk. Nate clicked his tongue and held out his hand. Each of his boy’s dutifully handed over his cone from which Nick extracted a sizable lick before handing it back.
I gave him as look as if to say “You big lug, you pass on the chance to get yourself a cone and then you take a big lick off of their cones?”
He just looked at me, shrugged, and said “Daddy Tax.”
